Celebrity Style Paparazzi: Brit Awards 2013

Celebrity Style Paparazzi is back!
The Brit Awards were this week and my two favorites Ben Howard and Emile Sande were the biggest winners with 2 awards each.
I was disappointed to see however the amount of tweets demanding to know who Ben Howard was.
Ed Sheeran lost his phone and Jake Bugg thankfully addressed comments about One Direction being the next Beatles- they are far from it!

~All of the following ratings are my own~

Lydia Bright looked great in this LBD number. Of course, its a red carpet event so the aim is to turn heads- the white lace detail definitely did that. No other Celeb was snapped in something similar and her fresh faced makeup & hair combo completed the look.

10/10

Gemma Arterton unfortunately looked awful. Darling, this isnt fancy dress. The double sequins seems like a poor effort to follow the comeback of the sparkle but the buttoned cardigan and poor fitting skirt caused a car crash look.

1/10- purely for the attempt

Ashley Roberts snapped here with her pal Zoe Hardman looked catwalk ready. The gold and black combo was super classy and when combined with the leg revealing skirt became super sexy too. I would like to point out however that the massive bracelet was not needed.
Her messy bun reminded viewers of her 'I'm a Celebrity get me out of here' adventure

9/10

Rita Ora looked terrible in this prawn colored  rag. She has a great figure and has shown her fashion potential in the past so this was beyond a letdown

0/10

Fortunately she changed for the after party and looked fantastic in this sequin number. I would have picked another clutch personally

7/10

Alexa Chung looked freezing in her PJ's- on trend but full of goosebumps
I think she has a thing for pointed shoes?

9/10

Little Mix failed this red carpet event collectively. However Leigh Anne looked stunning and had the right amount of quirkiness added to her classy dress.

0/10 collectively
10/10 for Leigh Anne

Taylor Swift was in no trouble with this minimalism come gladiator come Roman-fied maxi.
Flawless

10/10

Lana Del Rey went Katniss Everdeen with her plait but unfortunately failed at turning heads in this LBD- it was utterly boring

3/10

Jessie ware was added to the list of fashion fails when she rocked up in this two-piece LBD attempt.
The bag is horrid and the hooped earrings were unnecessary
However, the embellishment on her sleeves was very pretty and is set to be a big trend this year

3/10

Laura Whitmore looked snug in her fur coat. Her clutch bag was by far the nicest of the evening- definitely on trend. her dress was also applause-able

10/10 [can I just add I am jealous of her hair]

Rebecca Ferguson brought back her 1940's fashion fever in this sleek LBD.
The flower detail is super pretty and she regained her icon status for sure

9/10- wouldn't have gone for a tanned clutch

Corine Bailey Rae appeared to have broke her iron. Oh dear.
The creases add character and make what is a very basic dress more interesting. Very minimalistic.
The shoes however are a no no

7/10

Emeli Sande looked tres chic in this nude based outfit. The color pallet was very creative, mixing nudes with black, brown and green. For an artist who cares more for music than fashion she really pulled it out of the bag.

8/10- can I just say her performance gets a 10.

Emma Willis looked bang on trend in this LBD. By mixing texture/materials it interestingly became red carpet ready. She sported the animal print trend with a cute clutch and her lip color really popped.

9/10

The ULTIMATE fashion fail of the evening had to be:

Katherine Jenkins in this ridiculous shift dress. She certainly removed the 'f' from the shift ;) [shit]
Firstly its unflattering, boring and unrepresentative of her profession.
Secondly, it looks as if my 5 year old brother had a bash at doing her hair.
Lastly, I would like to volunteer to burn the dress.

-10 / 10

Conclusion:

LBD's when styled are perfect for the red carpet
Interview your stylist before hiring them
Splash the cash when necessary- don't 'lead the walk of shame'
Finally, don't attempt a trend at a global award event

  7. Haha cute commentary. Really loved Laura Whitmore's ensemble, and actually quite liked Jessie Ware's outfit – she should have accessorised much better!
